Ultrasound, or more accurately MSU (Musculo Skeletal Ultrasound), can be used to make images inside the body, such as of the musculoskeletal system.
This means tendons, muscles, ligaments, bursae, bones and joints. You may also know it from pregnancy.
FysioQuesada has hospital-quality ultrasound equipment, which enables us to clearly visualize various conditions.
Among other things, irritations of tendons, such as abnormalities of the Achilles tendon, a possible tennis elbow and calcifications in tendons (for example around the shoulder). Also heel spurs or a bursitis are often visible on an ultrasound.
FysioQuesada has a modern and advanced echo system. By means of echographic examination it is possible to make the correct diagnosis and to give you the treatment that goes with it.
In some cases it is useful to refer you to or back to your GP or specialist. If you are treated by us, we can monitor your recovery during the treatment process by occasionally performing ultrasound examinations during this period.
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSU) offers a non-invasive, low-cost method to obtain diagnostic information
to get from the musculoskeletal system. For example, you can see:
The examination is quick and easy, and also not uncomfortable for the patient and can be repeated as often as necessary. If the practitioner himself performs the examination on the patient, he immediately sees the dynamic images, this in contrast to X-rays and MRI which only provide static images.
During an ultrasound examination, the patient can actively participate by indicating when and with which movement the complaints increase or decrease. The practitioner can then directly establish a relationship between the complaint and the images he sees.
What is the added value in practice? The use of ultrasound aims to gain visual insight into the patient's alleged pathology. This allows a diagnosis to be made more quickly and accurately, and thus the most appropriate treatment policy to be initiated.
During the treatments, ultrasound can be used to regularly provide visual feedback on the development of the condition and the treatment followed.
If necessary, the policy can be adjusted in the interim based on the results obtained.
