FysioQuesada.......is there for you...!

Welcome to FysioQuesada. The physiotherapy practice specialized in the treatment of chronic pain complaints. For example, you can think of RSI complaints (nowadays called KANS). These types of complaints require a special approach in which, in addition to a treatment plan, together with the patient we look at how the recurrence of these types of problems can be prevented in the future.

At FysioQuesada we work with the latest techniques and treatment methods, including ultrasound, laser and ESWT (Extracorporeal ShockWave Therapy). With ESWT ShockWave, many chronic pain complaints that were previously impossible or difficult to treat, can now be solved effectively and in a short time.

Using ultrasound, abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system can be detected and/or excluded, allowing the patient to be treated more specifically or referred to the right physician or paramedic. This allows the entire rehabilitation process to proceed more quickly and therefore much more efficiently.

Feyk Hogenbirk

Feyk Hogenbirk is your practitioner at FysioQuesada. He specializes in Manual Therapy, Sports Physiotherapy, Jaw Physiotherapy and Ultrasound. Since 2007, Hogenbirk has focused on High-Energy Extracorporeal ShockWave Therapy (ESWT): a focused, specialized form of ShockWave therapy. In combination with Musculo Skeletal Ultrasound (MSU), or ultrasound diagnostics, Hogenbirk is able to achieve quick results in short treatment courses.

Hogenbirk is registered in the BIG register and the Central Quality Register for Physiotherapy (CKR). He is also a member of the Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy (KNGF) and the Dutch Association for Musculoskeletal ShockWave Therapy (NVMST).

Career

In 1982 Feyke Hogenbirk set up his first own practice, at that time the Centre for Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy Doetinchem. There he could implement his ambitious ideas to improve physiotherapy, which he did not get the chance to do as an employee. In this centre, five other physiotherapists worked with him, before Hogenbirk sold the practice in 2000 and also started focusing on Cosmetic Laser treatments.

Eight years later, Hogenbirk shifted his focus back to physiotherapy, with the founding of Fysiotherapie & ShockWave Doetinchem. Here he introduced the High-Energy ShockWave therapy, which is still relatively unknown in the Netherlands today. After all, this form of shock wave therapy requires specialist knowledge and superior, but expensive equipment.

This investment pays off, now that Hogenbirk can precisely and efficiently treat (pain) complaints. He does this by combining ShockWave therapy with ultrasound diagnostics. With ultrasound images, he gets a better view of the problems, before treating them specifically with the high-energy ESWT. In addition, Hogenbirk pays a lot of attention to explaining and coordinating with the patients, so that they know what they can expect from him.

Training and courses

In 1978 Feyke Hogenbirk started his training as a physiotherapist at the Academy for Physiotherapy Amsterdam. After graduating there in 1981, he continued his studies between 1982 and 1985 with a training in Manual Therapy at the Maitland Institute in Enschede.

In the meantime, Hogenbirk was already working as director and practitioner in his own practice, the Center for Physiotherapy and Manual Therapy Doetinchem, but over the years he continued to expand his range of treatment options in breadth and depth. He specialized in sports physiotherapy and jaw physiotherapy for Cranio-Mandibular Dysfunctions (CMD) and completed various medical training courses in German, Australian, British and American practices.

Even after Hogenbirk set up Physiotherapy & ShockWave Doetinchem in 2008, he completed many training courses, such as the Golf Physiotherapist and Golf Physio Trainer courses, Myofascial Trigger Points, Manual Trigger Point Therapy, Physiotherapy for Lower Back Pain and Lower Limb Tendinopathy.

Of course, Hogenbirk also followed the necessary training in his current specializations, including the course Echodiagnostics Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSU). For the use of the ShockWave equipment, he followed courses with various manufacturers and he worked with a fellow physiotherapist from Groningen, who also applied this form of therapy in his practice. Hogenbirk previously also completed the Direct Access Physiotherapy course, which allows him to receive patients better without the intervention of a doctor so that they can go directly (i.e. without a referral) to his practice.
